Distance = Image width x Ratio

F-NUMBER
f stands for 'focal length' (Brennweite). Ratio of focal length to aperture. Zoom lenses often have two values. Large apertures are described with small numbers and the small apertures with large numbers. A lens with a lower f-number lets more light through.

THROW RATIO
Also called projection ratio, ratio, throw. It gives the relation between projection distance and image width. The multiplication of the number by the screen width is the distance between projector and screen. Therefore, the screen width can be calculated if you divide the distance to the screen by the number. If two numbers are given (e.g.: 1.5-2.5:1), that means the projector has a zoom lens and the ratio can be varied within the specified range.
