The Barco QDX-N4K25 RGB is a native 4K 3-chip DLP projector with an RGB laser light source, 23,000 ANSI lumens, 4096 x 2176 resolution and Rec.2020 color space for premium professional projection in demanding installations. The model uses 3x 0.98" DMD, supports input signals up to 8K@60Hz and 4K@240Hz through Barco Pulse Electronics, and is designed for long service life with a specified light source lifetime of more than 40,000 hours.

Native 4K image quality with RGB laser

The QDX-N4K25 RGB combines a native DC4K resolution of 4096 x 2176 with a pure RGB laser light source. This makes the system suitable for applications where high detail resolution and precise color reproduction are both required. Barco specifies Rec.2020 color space coverage, 95% brightness uniformity and 23,000 ANSI lumens for this model. This is complemented by a full field contrast ratio of 2,200:1 and Barco DynaBlack up to 20,000:1.

QDX platform for demanding projection environments

Within the QDX platform, Barco positions the QDX-N4K25 RGB as part of a modular projector family spanning different light source technologies, resolutions, color spaces and brightness classes. For integrators, this is especially relevant because the platform supports shared workflows and, according to Barco, allows continued use of existing TLD+ lenses, rental frames and flight cases. Barco also highlights the combination of Pulse Electronics, DuraOptix, DynaBlack and cloud-based remote fleet management through the Insights Management Suite as key platform benefits.

Signal processing and integration interfaces

For modern signal paths, the projector provides HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, RJ45 Ethernet, USB with 5 V, 12 V out and BNC 3D sync in/out. According to the specification sheet, it supports input signals up to 4096 x 2160 at 120 Hz, 3840 x 2400 at 120 Hz and 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz. Internal processing is handled by Pulse Electronics, which the QDX range uses for increased bandwidth and higher processing power. For installation workflows, the unit also includes integrated warping and blending, picture-in-picture with two simultaneous sources, CLO for constant light output and a built-in web browser.

Lens platform and installation flexibility

The QDX-N4K25 RGB is built around Barco's TLD+ lens platform and is designed for interchangeable lens operation. The official specification sheet lists TLD+ lenses from 0.37:1 to 7.50:1, covering installation scenarios from ultra short throw to ultra telephoto. Optical lens shift is motorized and specified as up to 160% upward, down to 150% downward and up to +/-50% horizontal, depending on the selected lens; lens memory is also available with TLD+ lenses. The projection distance can be approximated as image width x ratio.

Rugged design for long-term operation

Barco describes the QDX-N4K25 RGB as a long-life system for professional continuous use. Confirmed features include a sealed DLP core with DuraOptix, an optimized air filtration system, protective coatings for critical electronics and an RGB laser light source rated for more than 40,000 hours. Added to this are 360° orientation support, an optical dowser and a modular service-oriented design, making the projector suitable for both fixed installations and changing production environments.

Dimensions and operational data

The chassis measures 660 x 830 x 350 mm and weighs 74 kg. Barco specifies an operating temperature range of 0-40 °C, with reduced output above 40 °C. Power requirements are listed as 120-160 V at reduced power or 200-240 V (+/-10%) at 32 A and 50-60 Hz. Standard accessories include a power cord and a rugged wireless or wired XLR remote control.
