The Barco I65-4K13 is a professional single-chip DLP laser projector delivering 12,500 ISO lumens, 4K UHD image output (3840 x 2400) and a native WUXGA resolution of 1920 x 1200. As part of the new Barco I65 Series, the projector combines Pulse Lite signal processing with a fully sealed DLP optical engine, a long-life laser phosphor light source and full compatibility with the complete ILD lens platform. Its increased brightness extends the range of applications to larger projection surfaces and more demanding ambient lighting conditions, while its compact design and modern integration interfaces enable efficient deployment within professional AV environments. The version described here features a black housing and is particularly suited for installations where the projection technology should blend discreetly into the surrounding environment.

With the I65 Series, Barco expands its portfolio of professional installation projectors with a compact DLP platform designed around cost efficiency, simplified integration and long-term operational reliability. The series is intended for projects requiring professional image quality and modern installation capabilities while placing equal emphasis on efficient project planning and economical long-term operation.By combining proven DLP technology with a compact chassis and full compatibility with the ILD interchangeable lens platform, the Barco I65-4K13 can be integrated into both new installations and existing projection systems. At the same time, system designers and AV integrators benefit from a platform that has already been designed with future expansion in mind and can be adapted to a wide variety of project requirements.

4K UHD image output for large-scale projection

The Barco I65-4K13 delivers a 4K UHD image output with a resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixels. The native imaging resolution is WUXGA (1920 x 1200). With a brightness of 12,500 ISO lumens, the projector is designed for large-format projection, detailed visualisation and installations with increased ambient light where high brightness and uniform illumination are essential.The fully sealed DLP optical engine permanently protects the optical components against dust and environmental contamination. This helps maintain consistent image quality throughout the projector's operational lifetime while reducing maintenance requirements in professional installations. Image performance is further enhanced by Barco DynaBlack with a dynamic contrast ratio of up to 25,000:1, brightness uniformity exceeding 90% and support for the Rec.709 colour space to ensure consistent colour reproduction.

Pulse Lite as the foundation of modern installations

Signal processing is handled by Barco's Pulse Lite platform. It forms the technical foundation for numerous installation features and integrates embedded warp & blend, keystone correction, colour correction and Constant Light Output (CLO).Constant Light Output continuously monitors and regulates light output to support consistent brightness throughout extended operating periods. This makes it easier to align multi-projector systems while maintaining uniform brightness across the entire installation over time.The integrated warp and blend functions also allow complex projection surfaces to be adjusted directly within the projector, reducing the need for additional external image processing hardware. As a result, the platform is equally suitable for conventional single-projector installations and demanding multi-projector applications.

ILD lens platform for maximum installation flexibility

The Barco I65-4K13 is supplied as Body Only without a projection lens. The complete ILD lens family is available with throw ratios ranging from 0.35:1 to 7.40:1. The portfolio includes ultra short throw, wide-angle, standard, telephoto and ultra-telephoto lenses, as well as the ILD Snorkel lens for specialised projection geometries.Thanks to the shared ILD lens platform across the Barco I Series, existing ILD lenses can continue to be used when upgrading to a different projector model. This simplifies project planning, reduces investment costs during future system upgrades and supports the long-term utilisation of existing lens inventories.Depending on the selected lens, vertical lens shift is available up to 110%, while horizontal lens shift is available up to 30%. Projection distance is approximately calculated as image width x throw ratio.

Future-ready system integration

For integration into professional AV systems, the Barco I65-4K13 provides HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, Ethernet, RS232, USB and dedicated 3D Sync connectors.The connectivity is complemented by an Intel SDM-S and SDM-L compatible expansion slot, allowing additional signal processing hardware or future expansion modules to be integrated directly into the projector.At the same time, Barco positions the I65 Series as a platform for modern AV-over-IP installations. SDM support provides a flexible foundation for future integration concepts, including IPMX-based infrastructures, allowing the projection platform to adapt to evolving system requirements without replacing the projector itself.

Compact design for efficient installation

With dimensions of 522 x 494 x 198 mm and a weight of approximately 22.6 kg, the Barco I65-4K13 combines high brightness with a compact installation platform. This simplifies transportation, handling and installation, particularly for ceiling-mounted applications or projects where available installation space is limited.The projector supports unrestricted 360° orientation and can be installed in any position. This makes it suitable for conventional front projection as well as floor, ceiling and complex architectural projection applications.

Black housing for discreet integration

This version features a black housing and has been designed for installations where the projected image, rather than the projection equipment itself, should remain the visual focus. The dark housing finish minimises visible reflections and blends naturally into low-light environments.This makes the projector particularly suitable for museums, immersive attractions, theatres, planetariums, projection mapping, live event installations and architectural projection where the projector should integrate discreetly into the overall installation concept.
