  • Projector mounts for professional AV installations

A projector mount has a simple job at first: the projector should remain securely where it belongs - and as precisely as possible.

In practice, there is more to it. Depending on the project, the projector may need to be mounted on the ceiling, on a wall or in a truss.

Sometimes it needs to be fully concealed within the ceiling, while in other cases a large projector weighing more than 100 kilograms must be safely integrated into an existing support structure. For this, we supply professional ceiling mounts, wall mounts, truss mounts, ceiling lifts, projector-specific mounting plates and flight frames.

Our portfolio includes genuine products from Chief, Peta, SmartMetals, RigTec, Global Truss and Exact Solutions - from modular standard systems to project-specific solutions.

The right mounting solution for every installation

The right projector mount is determined by more than just the projector model. At least as important are the lens, throw distance, room geometry, mounting height and existing support structure.

There are also practical considerations: How precisely can the projector be adjusted? Will the connections and service points still be accessible later? Can the unit be replaced if it needs servicing without having to set up the entire projection again afterwards? The projector, lens and mount should therefore be planned as an integrated system.

For simple installations, the right solution is usually found quickly. With large projectors, unusual mounting positions, special structural conditions or complex multi-projector systems, it is worth taking a closer look.

If you provide us with the projector model, lens, throw distance and information about the mounting situation, we can narrow down the suitable components precisely

Our product range

From compact installation projectors to high-brightness projectors weighing more than 100 kg, the requirements for mounting vary considerably.

Our range therefore includes various systems for ceiling, wall and truss mounting, as well as ceiling lifts, mounting plates and flight frames

The solutions are used in professional permanent installations, venues, museums, visitor centres, theatres, studios, trade fair projects and rental applications.

Ceiling mounts

Ceiling mounts are the classic solution for many professional permanent installations. Depending on the ceiling height and projector, fixed or height-adjustable systems are used.

Extension columns bring the projector to the required height, while finely adjustable mounts enable precise alignment with the projection surface.

When selecting a system, the required load capacity is important, as are the adjustment range, adjustment options, projector mounting interface and accessibility. Integrated cable management can also help ensure a tidy installation.

Wall mounts

When ceiling mounting is not structurally suitable or is not an option, a wall mount can be the right alternative. It can be used, for example, for rear projection, short throw distances or unusual room geometries.

Depending on the system, different distances from the wall and adjustment options are available.

Here too, it is essential to consider the projector, lens and throw distance together: a precisely installed mount can only do its job if its position matches the required projection geometry.

Truss mounts

Truss mounts enable projectors to be integrated into suitable aluminium trusses and support structures. They are used both for temporary setups in event technology, rental and trade fair construction and for permanent installations.

With larger projectors in particular, the load capacity specified for the relevant system, a suitable mechanical connection and precise adjustment options are essential.

For systems that are regularly assembled and dismantled, handling is another consideration: installation, dismantling and repeatable positioning should be as efficient as possible.

The components must always be selected and installed with due consideration for the relevant support structure, the manufacturer's specifications and the project-specific safety requirements.

Ceiling lifts

A ceiling lift brings the projector into its operating position only when it is needed. When retracted, the unit is located within or above the ceiling and can therefore be integrated discreetly into the architecture.

As well as offering visual integration, a ceiling lift provides a practical advantage for maintenance and servicing: for many tasks, the projector can be lowered to a height that is easy to reach.

This can make access to the projector, lens, filters and connections considerably easier, especially with high ceilings.

Flight frames

Projector-specific flight frames are often used for large installation projectors or unusual mounting situations. They hold the projector in a stable frame and enable it to be integrated into suitable ceiling, truss or other support structures. As well as providing a defined mounting interface for the projector, ease of servicing is also important.

Depending on the system, the unit can be removed or replaced without having to modify the entire support structure. At the same time, the connections and service points remain as accessible as possible. With large and heavy projectors in particular, it pays to choose a mounting solution that takes into account not only the initial installation but also future servicing.

Mounting plates

Projector-specific mounting plates provide the defined connection between the projector and the mount. Unlike universal mounting interfaces, they are matched to the mounting points of the relevant projector model and therefore enable a precise fit.

With suitably designed systems, a projector can be removed from the mount for maintenance or replacement and then reinstalled in the same position without having to realign the entire mechanism.

This can significantly reduce the workload, particularly with multi-projector installations and regular servicing.

Manufacturers and systems

We work with various manufacturers because no mounting solution is equally suitable for every application.

Depending on the project, the focus may be on universal mounts, projector-specific mounting interfaces, particularly high load capacities, precise adjustment options or special rigging solutions. When selecting a system, we pay particular attention to compatibility, specified load capacity, adjustment options, access for servicing and long-term usability.

Consultation and planning from the outset

A projector mount should ideally not be selected only once the projector has already been ordered and the intended mounting point has been established. It is more sensible to consider the projector, lens, throw distance, mounting position and existing support structure together during the planning stage. This makes it possible to clarify at an early stage which mounting system is required and whether additional components such as mounting plates, extensions, truss adapters or other mounting accessories are needed. This is particularly important for multi-projector systems, large projectors, custom constructions and unusual installation situations.

We support you in selecting and putting together the components. If required, we can also support the project, together with our partners, through to the professional installation and commissioning.

FAQ

This depends on more than just the projector model. The lens, mounting position, throw distance and existing support structure are also relevant. If you provide the exact equipment details and some information about the installation situation, we can narrow down the suitable components precisely.

Partly. Many ceiling and wall mounts use universal mounting systems. Projector-specific mounting plates and flight frames, on the other hand, are often designed for specific projector models. The decisive factor is therefore the relevant mounting system, not the projector manufacturer alone.

Not necessarily. However, it can offer significant advantages for larger installation projectors, multi-projector systems or installations that require regular servicing. The plate is matched to the projector's mounting points and can simplify installation and equipment replacement.

Flight frames are used particularly for large installation projectors, high loads or more complex mounting situations. In addition to providing a defined projector mounting interface, they can make maintenance, transport and equipment replacement easier.

Yes. Special truss mounts, mounting plates and flight frames are available for this purpose. The suitable solution depends, among other things, on the projector model, total weight, existing truss, mounting system and project-specific safety requirements.

The technical specifications and permissible loads stated by the relevant manufacturer are decisive. When determining the total weight, the lens, mounting plate and any other mounted accessories must be taken into account in addition to the projector.

Yes. Appropriately designed ceiling mounts, flight frames and projector-specific mounting systems are available for large and heavy installation projectors. Special installation situations may also require custom constructions.

This is possible in many cases, but it needs to be checked. Important factors include the mounting system, permissible load capacity, dimensions and mounting points of the new projector, as well as the existing installation situation.
