Mirror Head 29 - Rental Edition

The Dynamic Projection Institute Mirror Head MH29 Rental Edition is a dynamically controllable mirror module for Barco UDX-series projectors. The system augments compatible projectors with a high-precision PAN/TILT mirror control and enables dynamic redirection and positioning of projections within professional AV environments. Through the combination of DMX and Art-Net control, self-calibrating mirror mechanics, and a design developed specifically for Rental-, Touring-, and Event applications, the MH29 is suitable for Projection Mapping, immersive installations, live events, architectural projections, and temporary media productions.

Dynamic projections for the Barco UDX platform

The MH29 enables precise movement and positioning of projections within complex projection environments. The high-resolution 16-Bit PAN/TILT control supports dynamic projection runs, reproducible show sequences, and targeted coverage of different projection surfaces with a single projector. The self-calibrating mirror mechanism ensures consistently precise projection results and high repeatability within professional applications.

Rental Edition for touring and event productions

The MH29 Rental Edition was developed specifically for professional rental and touring applications. The construction supports integration into professional projector frames and rigging systems and enables quick mounting within temporary projection environments. As a result, the system is suitable for live events, touring productions, trade show construction, immersive experiential worlds, and Projection Mapping applications with regularly changing projection requirements.

Professional control and integration

For integration into modern media control systems, the MH29 supports DMX-512 over 14 DMX channels, DMX-IN and DMX-OUT, as well as Art-Net over RJ45. The high-resolution microstep motors with maintenance-free direct drive enable precise motion sequences with high repeatability. The control system is designed for professional show and media applications and can be flexibly integrated into existing control environments.

Front Surface Mirror for efficient beam redirection

The MH29 uses a specially coated Front Surface Mirror with a reflectivity of about 98%. The mirror system is designed for the demands of high-performance Barco UDX projectors and supports efficient redirection of the projection beam at high image quality. The passive cooling operates without additional fans inside the Mirror Head and supports quiet operation.

Compatible with the Barco UDX series

The MH29 was developed for selected projectors of the Barco UDX and UDM platforms. The combination of high light output of the UDM/UDX Series and dynamic mirror control opens up a variety of possibilities for immersive installations, large-format projections, and professional show applications. For operation, Dynamic Projection Institute recommends a minimum throw ratio of 1.40:1.
