The projector works on Texas Instruments' DLP technology. The light is reflected by thousands of micro-mirrors (one mirror for each pixel). DLP technology stands for high contrast ratios and great luminosity, as well as a compact and light design.
The Panasonic PT-DZ870 /E/U/L/S/K supports the Real Full HD 3D format (Blu-ray 3D format). The Full HD 3D format is the only 3D format without any quality loss. Both perspectives are merged in a full frame resolution of 1920x2205 pixels and transmitted through a HDMI v.1.4 connection from Blu-ray player to projector. Up until HDMI v.1.3 it was not possible to display subframes at such a high resolution. That's why Real Full HD 3D is not compatible with HDMI 1.3 cables . The projector has an optical lens shift . This is a feature of a top quality projector, which allows you to shift the image of your projection without distortions, and without moving the projector.
Through the LAN RJ45 network connection the projector can be integrated directly into your network. This allows you to operate and maintain the device remotely. Some models will even send a email to you when errors occur (e.g.broken lamp).

The Panasonic PT-DZ870 /E/U/L/S/K is designed for professional long continuous operation in 23/7 or 24/7 mode. Only very few projectors offer this feature since it requires a very good lamp cooling system. The Panasonic PT-DZ870 /E/U/L/S/K has an ECO mode, which prolongs the lifespan of the lamp by reducing brightness, operating noise and power consumption of the projector.
