Mirror Head 34 - Rental Edition

The Dynamic Projection Institute Mirror Head MH34 Rental Edition is a dynamically controllable mirror module for projectors of the Barco G100 series. The system expands compatible projectors with a highly precise PAN/TILT mirror control and enables dynamic redirection as well as positioning of projections within professional AV environments. Through the combination of DMX-, Art-Net-, HTTP- and MQTT-control, self-calibrating mirror mechanics and a design specifically developed for rental, touring and event applications, the MH34 is suitable for Projection Mapping, immersive installations, trade show projects, live events and dynamic media productions.

Dynamic Projections for the Barco G100 Platform

The MH34 expands compatible projectors of the Barco G100 Series with a precisely controllable mirror mechanism, enabling projections to move, align and be retrieved reproducibly. This allows content to be dynamically distributed between different projection surfaces or to execute complex projection sequences within an installation. The high-resolution 16-Bit PAN/TILT control enables a motion accuracy of about 0.01° and an absolute repeatability of less than 0.03°. The self-calibrating mirror positioning supports permanently stable and reproducible projection results.

Rental Edition for Touring and Flexible Event Installations

The MH34 Rental Edition has been specifically developed for professional rental, touring and event applications. The construction supports integration into projector frames and rigging systems and enables quick mounting within temporary projection environments. This makes the system suitable for trade show builds, live productions, immersive experience worlds, Projection Mapping and changing event environments with high demands on flexibility and repeatability.

Modern Control Platform for Professional Show Applications

For integration into modern media control environments, the MH34 supports DMX-512, Art-Net over RJ45, HTTP Control as well as MQTT Publish and Subscribe communication. Additionally, an RS232 interface is available for direct projector control. Through the integrated DPCC Web Interface, movement profiles, projection sequences and control parameters can be conveniently configured and managed. The control architecture was developed for professional show, media and event applications.

Front Surface Mirror for Efficient Projection

The MH34 uses a specially coated Front Surface Mirror with a reflectivity of about 98 %. The mirror system was designed to meet the requirements of the Barco G100 platform and supports efficient redirection of the projection beam with high image quality. The passive cooling operates without additional fans inside the Mirror Head and supports a quiet operation.

Compatible with the Barco G100 Series

The MH34 was developed for selected projectors on the Barco G100 platform. The combination of a compact projector form factor, flexible lens platform and dynamic mirror control opens up diverse possibilities for immersive installations, museum applications, architectural projections, immersive worlds and professional event technology. For operation Dynamic Projection Institute recommends a minimum throw ratio of 1.40:1.

The anodized light-metal construction, the maintenance-free direct drives and the mechanics designed for professional AV applications support long-term reliable operation within fixed installations, event productions and touring environments.
