Mirror Head 27 - Rental Edition

The Dynamic Projection Institute Mirror Head MH27 Rental Edition is a dynamically controllable mirror module for the projectors of the Digital Projection M-Vision Laser series. The system enables precise redirection and positioning of projections within professional AV environments and expands compatible projectors with a high-resolution PAN/TILT mirror control. Through the combination of DMX and Art-Net connectivity, self-calibrating mirror mechanism, and a design specifically developed for rental-, touring-, and event applications, the MH27 is suitable for Projection Mapping, immersive installations, media stagings, trade show productions, and dynamic projections on changing projection surfaces.

Dynamic Projections for the Digital Projection M-Vision Platform

The MH27 extends compatible projectors in the M-Vision series with a precisely controllable mirror mechanism by which projections can be moved, aligned and retrieved reproducibly. This enables multiple projection surfaces to be illuminated by a single projector or content to be distributed dynamically within a room. The high-resolution 16-Bit PAN/TILT control enables motion accuracy of about 0.01° and an absolute repeat accuracy of < 0.03°. The self-calibrating mirror positioning supports long-term stable projection results.

Rental Edition for professional event technology

The MH27 Rental Edition was developed for use in professional rental and touring environments. The construction supports integration into projector frames and rigging systems and enables quick and secure mounting within temporary projection installations. This makes the system particularly suitable for live events, touring productions, trade show booths, Projection Mapping, and immersive experiences with regularly changing projection scenarios.

Control and Media Integration

For integration into modern media control systems, the MH27 DMX-512 supports 14 DMX channels, DMX-IN and DMX-OUT, Art-Net over RJ45 and an RS232 interface for projector control. High-resolution micro-stepping motors with maintenance-free direct drive enable precise motion sequences with high repeat accuracy. An integrated LED display supports local configuration directly on the device.

Front Surface Mirror for professional projections

The MH27 uses a specially coated Front Surface Mirror with a reflectivity of about 98%. The mirror system is tuned to the requirements of the Digital Projection M-Vision platform and supports efficient redirection of the projection beam with high image quality. The passive cooling operates without additional fans inside the Mirror Head and supports quiet operation.

Compatible projector platforms

The MH27 was developed for selected projectors of the Digital Projection M-Vision Laser series. The platform is suitable for high-performance installation and event projectors of the M-Vision family and supports different lens configurations within professional projection environments. The recommended minimum throw ratio is 1.40:1 to utilise the full motion range of the mirror mechanism.
