Mirror Head 30 - Rental Edition

The Dynamic Projection Institute Mirror Head MH30 Rental Edition is a dynamically controllable mirror module for projectors in the Barco F80 series. The system extends compatible projectors with a highly precise PAN/TILT mirror control and enables dynamic redirection as well as positioning of projections within professional AV environments. By combining DMX and Art-Net control, a self-calibrating mirror mechanism, and a design specifically developed for rental, touring, and event applications, the MH30 is suitable for Projection Mapping, immersive installations, trade show projects, live events, and dynamic media productions.

Dynamic projections for the Barco F80 platform

The MH30 extends compatible projectors of the Barco F80 series with a precisely controllable mirror mechanism that allows projections to be moved, aligned and recalled reliably. This enables content to be dynamically distributed across different projection surfaces or to realize complex projection sequences within an installation. The high-resolution 16-bit PAN/TILT control enables a movement accuracy of approximately 0.01° and an absolute repeatability of less than 0.03°. The self-calibrating mirror positioning helps ensure long-term precise projection results.

Rental Edition for professional touring environments

The MH30 Rental Edition was developed for use in professional rental, touring, and event environments. The construction supports integration into projector frames and rigging systems and enables quick mounting within temporary projection installations. This makes the system particularly suitable for live productions, touring applications, trade show construction, immersive experience spaces, and Projection Mapping projects with changing projection requirements.

Professional control and show integration

For integration into modern media control environments, the MH30 DMX-512 supports over 14 DMX channels, DMX-IN and DMX-OUT, as well as Art-Net over RJ45. The high-resolution micro-stepping motors with maintenance-free direct drive enable precise motion sequences with high repeatability. The control architecture was developed specifically for professional show, media, and event applications and can be flexibly integrated into existing control environments.

Front Surface Mirror for professional image redirection

The MH30 uses a specially coated Front Surface Mirror with a reflectivity of about 98%. The mirror system is designed for the requirements of the Barco F80 platform and supports efficient redirection of the projection beam with high image quality. The passive cooling operates without additional fans inside the Mirror Head and supports quiet operation.

Compatible with the Barco F80 series

The MH30 was developed for Barco F80 platform projectors. The combination of a compact projector form factor and dynamic mirror control opens up a range of possibilities for immersive installations, media staging, museum applications, event technology, and Projection Mapping. For operation, Dynamic Projection Institute recommends a minimum throw ratio of 1.40:1.
