Mirror Head 44 - Rental Edition

The Dynamic Projection Institute Mirror Head MH44 Rental Edition is a dynamically controllable mirror module for Barco i600 series projectors. The system adds a highly precise PAN/TILT mirror control to compatible projectors and enables dynamic steering and positioning of projections within professional AV environments. By combining DMX-, Art-Net-, HTTP- and MQTT-control, a self-calibrating mirror mechanism, and a design developed specifically for rental, touring and event applications, the MH44 is suitable for projection mapping, immersive installations, media presentations, exhibitions, live events, and interactive projections on changing projection surfaces.

Dynamic Projections for the Barco i600 Platform

The MH44 extends Barco i600 platform projectors with a precisely controllable mirror mechanism, allowing projections to be moved, aligned, and recalled reproducibly. This enables content to be flexibly distributed between different projection surfaces or dynamic projection effects within an installation. The high-resolution 16-Bit PAN/TILT control provides a movement accuracy of about 0.01° and an absolute repeatability of less than 0.03°. The self-calibrating mirror positioning supports consistently precise and reproducible projection results.

Rental Edition for Flexible Projection Environments

The MH44 Rental Edition is designed for professional rental, touring and event applications. The construction supports integration into projector frames, rigging systems, and temporary projection installations. Thanks to the compact design of the Barco i600 platform, the system is particularly suitable for trade show projects, digital experiential worlds, exhibitions, event productions, and immersive applications with regularly changing projection requirements.

Advanced Control and Network Communication

The MH44 supports modern control and communication protocols for integration into professional media control environments. In addition to DMX-512 and Art-Net, HTTP Control and MQTT Publish and Subscribe are available. Through the integrated DPCC Web Interface, movement profiles, projection workflows, and device settings can be conveniently managed. Additionally, the RS232 interface enables direct communication with the projector.

Front Surface Mirror for Efficient Image Redirection

The MH44 uses a specially coated Front Surface Mirror with a reflectivity of about 98 %. The mirror system is designed for the requirements of the Barco i600 platform and supports efficient redirection of the projection beam with high image quality. The passive cooling operates without additional fans inside the Mirror Head and supports quiet operation.

Compatible with the Barco i600 Series

The MH44 was developed for selected projectors on the Barco i600 platform. The combination of a compact projector form factor, flexible lens platform, and dynamic mirror control opens up a wide range of possibilities for immersive installations, digital exhibitions, architectural projections, experiential worlds, and professional event technology. For operation, Dynamic Projection Institute recommends a minimum Throw Ratio of 1.40:1.
