Mirror Head 28 - Rental Edition

The Dynamic Projection Institute Mirror Head MH28 Rental Edition is a dynamically controllable mirror module for the Epson EB-L30000U and EB-L25000U projector platforms. The system adds a high-precision PAN/TILT mirror control to compatible 3LCD laser projectors, enabling dynamic redirection and positioning of projections within professional AV environments. By combining DMX and Art-Net control, self-calibrating mirror mechanics, and a design specifically developed for staging, rental, and touring applications, the MH28 is suitable for Projection Mapping, immersive installations, large-scale events, architectural projections, and demanding media productions with high light output.

Dynamic Projections for the Epson High-Brightness Platform

The MH28 adds a precisely controllable mirror mechanism to compatible Epson projectors, allowing projections to be moved, aligned, and recalled with reproducible results. This enables content to be flexibly distributed across different projection surfaces or to realize complex show sequences within an installation. The high-resolution 16-bit PAN/TILT control enables a movement accuracy of about 0.01° and an absolute repeatability of less than 0.03°. The self-calibrating mirror positioning supports consistently precise and reproducible projection results.

Rental Edition for Staging, Touring and Event Productions

The MH28 has been specifically designed for professional rental, touring and staging applications. The system is fully compatible with the Epson Carry Handle and Stacking solutions of the EB-L30000U platform and enables quick, secure snap-in mounting in less than a minute. Therefore, the Mirror Head is particularly suitable for touring productions, large-scale events, temporary installations and immersive experiential worlds with regularly changing projection requirements.

Professional Control and Media Integration

For integration into modern media control environments, the MH28 supports DMX-512 over 14 DMX channels, DMX-IN and DMX-OUT, as well as Art-Net over RJ45. In addition, an RS232 interface is available for direct projector control. High-resolution micro-step motors with maintenance-free direct drive enable precise motion sequences with high repeatability. An integrated LED display supports local configuration directly at the device, while firmware updates can be performed via Mini-USB.

Front Surface Mirror for powerful projections

The MH28 uses a specially coated Front Surface Mirror with a reflectivity of about 98%. The mirror system has been specifically tuned to the requirements of the Epson EB-L30000U platform and supports efficient deflection of the projection beam with high image quality. The passive cooling operates without additional fans inside the Mirror Head and supports quiet operation.

Compatible with Epson EB-L30000U and EB-L25000U

The MH28 was developed for the Epson EB-L30000U and EB-L25000U projector platforms. Supported are the Epson lenses ELPLM12 with 1.74-2.35:1, ELPLM13 with 2.28-3.46:1, ELPLM14 with 3.41-5.11:1 as well as ELPLL09 with 4.79-7.20:1. For the telephoto lens ELPLL10 with 6.96-10.45:1, the optional Mirror Head Lens Extension MHZ-LE8 is available. Dynamic Projection Institute recommends using it from a throw ratio of 1.60:1 for optical reasons.
