Mirror Head 36 - Rental Edition

The Dynamic Projection Institute Mirror Head MH36 Rental Edition is a dynamically controllable mirror module for Panasonic PT-RQ35K series projectors. The system extends compatible 3-Chip DLP projectors with a highly precise PAN/TILT mirror control and enables dynamic redirection as well as positioning of projections within professional AV environments. Through the combination of DMX-, Art-Net-, HTTP- and MQTT-control, self-calibrating mirror mechanism, and a design developed specifically for rental, touring and event applications, the MH36 is suitable for Projection Mapping, immersive installations, architectural projections, large-scale events and dynamic media presentations with high light output.

Dynamic projections for the Panasonic PT-RQ35K platform

The MH36 adds a precisely controllable mirror mechanism to compatible Panasonic projectors, allowing projections to be moved, aligned and retrieved reproducibly. As a result, content can be flexibly distributed between different projection surfaces or complex show sequences implemented within an installation. The high-resolution 16-bit PAN/TILT control enables motion accuracy of about 0.01° and an absolute repeat accuracy of less than 0.03°. The self-calibrating mirror positioning supports consistently precise and reproducible projection results.

Rental Edition for High-Brightness Touring Applications

The MH36 Rental Edition is designed for professional rental, touring, and event environments where high-performance projection systems are used. The construction supports integration into professional projector frames and rigging systems and enables quick mounting within temporary projection installations. Therefore the system is particularly suited for large-scale events, Projection Mapping, immersive experiential worlds, trade-show applications, and demanding media installations with regularly changing projection requirements.

Modern control platform for professional show productions

For integration into modern media control systems, the MH36 supports DMX-512, Art-Net over RJ45, HTTP Control as well as MQTT Publish and Subscribe communication. Additionally, an RS232 interface is available for direct projector control. Through the integrated DPCC Web Interface, motion profiles, projection sequences and control parameters can be conveniently configured and managed. The control platform was developed specifically for professional show, media and event applications.

Front Surface Mirror for high-performance projection systems

The MH36 uses a specially coated Front Surface Mirror with a reflectivity of about 98%. The mirror system is designed for the requirements of the Panasonic PT-RQ35K platform and supports efficient redirection of the projection beam at high image quality. The passive cooling operates without additional fans inside the Mirror Head and supports quiet operation.

Compatible with the Panasonic PT-RQ35K Series

The MH36 was developed for selected projectors of the Panasonic PT-RQ35K platform. The combination of high light output, native 4K projection and dynamic mirror control opens up a wide range of possibilities for immersive installations, architectural projections, experiential worlds, Projection Mapping and professional event technology. For operation, Dynamic Projection Institute recommends a minimum throw ratio of 1.40:1.
