Mirror Head 47 - Rental Edition

The Dynamic Projection Institute Mirror Head MH47 Rental Edition is a dynamically controllable mirror module for projectors of the Panasonic PT-REQ- and PT-REZ-series. The system extends compatible 1-Chip DLP laser projectors with a highly precise PAN/TILT mirror control and enables dynamic tilting and positioning of projections within professional AV environments. Through the combination of DMX-, Art-Net- and RS232 control, self-calibrating mirror mechanism, and a design specifically developed for Rental-, Touring- and Event applications, the MH47 is suitable for Projection Mapping, immersive installations, exhibitions, architectural projections and dynamic media staging.

Dynamic projections for the Panasonic PT-REQ and PT-REZ platform

The MH47 expands compatible Panasonic projectors with a precisely controllable mirror mechanism by which projections can be moved, aligned and retrieved reproducibly. This allows content to be flexibly distributed across different projection surfaces or dynamic projection effects to be realized within an installation. The high-resolution 16-Bit PAN/TILT control enables motion accuracy of about 0.01° and an absolute repeatability of less than 0.03°. The self-calibrating mirror positioning ensures consistently precise and reproducible projection results.

Rental Edition for flexible event- and touring applications

The MH47 was developed specifically for professional rental, touring and event environments. The construction enables quick and secure mounting within temporary projection installations and supports integration into professional rigging and projector frame systems. This makes the system suitable for trade show projects, live productions, immersive experiential worlds, museums, exhibitions and demanding Projection-Mapping applications.

Professional control and media integration

For integration into modern media control environments the MH47 DMX-512 supports over 14 DMX channels, DMX-IN and DMX-OUT as well as Art-Net over RJ45. In addition, an RS232 interface is available for direct projector control. High-resolution microstep motors with maintenance-free direct drive enable precise movement sequences with high repeatability. An integrated LED display supports local configuration directly on the device, while firmware updates can be performed via USB.

Front Surface Mirror for precise image redirection

The MH47 uses a specially coated Front Surface Mirror with a reflectance of about 98 %. The mirror system is specifically tuned to the requirements of the Panasonic PT-REQ- and PT-REZ-series and supports efficient redirection of the projection beam at high image quality. The passive cooling operates without additional fans inside the Mirror Head and supports quiet operation.

The MH47 was developed for selected projectors of the Panasonic PT-REQ- and PT-REZ platform. The combination of compact form factor, laser light source and flexible lens platform opens up versatile possibilities for immersive installations, digital exhibitions, experiential worlds, museums and professional event technology.
